To Eastern / Central North Island, New Zealand

March 21, from Hamilton we headed on the bus to Whakatane. "Wh" in Maori makes the "F" sound.
Whakatane is a sea-shore town, but has serious terrain where our AirBnB was. The Hostess was nice
and picked us up! Lots of trees growing on and around huge rocks.

Kiwi Boy. Such detail!

Project Hail Mary

Hiked along a trail following the shore, but up in the hills.

Maori Cave

Zooming in

On to Napier via the Bus

Long walk down from the AirBnB on the Bluff.

Lots of Art in Napier. Very pretty city. Rebuilt in the Art Deco style after being completely leveled by an earthquake.

Tree hanging on against the shore winds!

Centennial Garden Waterfall

From the Bluff Lookout.

Lots of Murals!

And a place to stay in town.

Palmerston North - just one night, so we didn't have such a long bus trip.

Blindly happened upon this! Playing their Final Dress Rehersal with a discount!
We could not NOT attend!
